Atlanta, Georgia, hosted the 26th Annual
National High School Mock Trial Championship
May 6 through May 10, 2009.

The 2009 competition was held at the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta May 6-10, 2009. High school students from 42 states, U.S. territories, and South Korea participated in this two-day national competition. This is the second time Georgia has been selected to host nationals, the first time occurring in 1993.

The 2009 National High School Mock Trial Championship is a project of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia and the National High School Mock Trial Championship, Inc. It is sponsored, in part, through major donations from the Council of State Court Judges and the Georgia Bar Foundation.

An original (and very popular) DVD is available from the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. It can serve as an excellent resource for any school, coach, or attorney-coach in developing a program and for use in team training. The teaching film is approximately 60 minutes long and will take teams step-by-step through a mock trial. The DVD is also suitable for use in a law-related class. It features interviews with students, teacher, attorney coaches and supporters of the mock trial competition in Georgia, and trial footage.
