The Supreme Court of Delaware, the Delaware State Bar Association, and the Delaware Law Related Education Center, Inc. worked tirelessly to host the 25th Annual National High School Mock Trial Championship Tournament in the First State - Delaware. Championship teams from across the United States, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and South Korea headed to Wilmington to compete for the prestigious National Championship title May 7 - 11, 2008.

A "cadre" of 278 judges included state Supreme Court Justices, Federal District and Bankruptcy Judges, Criminal Appeals and Civil Appeals Judges, District Attorneys and Solicitors, Municipal Judges, Juvenile Court and Children's Court Judges, State Superior Court Judges, and many attorneys from the Delaware Bar Association and public and private practice. The Championship round between Georgia and Michigan was presided by Chief Justice Myron Steele of the Supreme Court of Delaware, and the evaluating judges included the entire Supreme Court of Delaware.

The 2008 National Champion is Jonesboro High School from Georgia.

The 2008 National RunnerUp is Kalamazoo Central High School from Michigan.
